Fur coats,Tussin DM, and the Disaster EP

Video By: Kelsey Kopecky

We just finished a run out west with Pico Vs. Island Tree's and Harrison Hudson.
Good times. Highlights include mostly free drinks, Steven busting his face, The Fur coat I tried on, and Matt Shaw.

I go to TX this weekend with Jakob, should be fun.

I've been reading a lot thanks to my good friends who are studying (good luck to them).

Ella is almost here! Another month and a half! I'm getting pretty excited.

Fall!

Good times in shanty Nashville town.
Fall has come again and so has the new Avett Brothers record.

We've moved.
531 Wedgewood.
I made the best purchase of this year - my five dollar stained glass light bulb.

I am happy to be alive.

Oh, Bukowski... You funny, fucked up man...

"Nothing was ever in tune. People just blindly grabbed at whatever there was: communism, health foods, zen, surfing, ballet, hypnotism, group encounters, orgies, biking, herbs, Catholicism, weight-lifting, travel, withdrawal, vegetarianism, India, painting, writing, sculpting, composing, conducting, backpacking, yoga, copulating, gambling, drinking, hanging around, frozen yogurt, Beethoven, Back, Buddha, Christ, TM, H, carrot juice, suicide, handmade suits, jet travel, New York City, and then it all evaporated and fell apart. People had to find things to do while waiting to die. I guess it was nice to have a choice."

Touring, Puppies, and Debauchery.

It is the last day of our tour and what a hell of a tour it's been.
We've made some new friends and saw some old ones.
I haven't been drunk once, but i can't say the same for the others.
It has been one hell of a ride.
My hair is longer.

Oh, and I also got a puppy in Indianapolis.

We play our last show in Louisville tonight at Derby City and then I am homeward bound.
Here's to today. May the present be fucking great.

waking pt. 2

Sometimes you climb out of bed in the morning and you think, I'm not going to make it, but you laugh inside — remembering all the times you've felt that way."

waking.

some days i see the sunset and sunrise, and most days it is in that order.
i ask myself, "self what would markus do in this situation." I then remember and everything goes ok, and if they don't well then it is still ok because it is what i would've done. i like that. i like that a lot. here's to today with myself.

addicted to... ?

my back is sweaty.
a cat is licking my feet.
the smoke won't stop pouring down my throat into my sore lungs.
it is 4:18 and I can't sleep.
i am in a warmer climate then usual.
i shadow a man and fall steps behind.
the drink taunts me.
i am at least thirty years old by now i think.
life is good.
i wish i wasn't three hundred and twenty one pounds.
i should exercise,
maybe get out a little,
i am not depressed.
just going through withdrawls.
maybe it's just a little bit of a quarter life crisis.
who knows. i don't. you don't either.
life is good.
good men are hard to find.
i have found them.
the drink has now found me i can't keep from it.
i don't particularly want to either.
i am functional.
i am dysfunctional.
life is good.
oh women and children.
i love you all.
life is good.
life is good.
i think maybe i am only two hundred and fifty five pounds.
another drag. another cough.
i hope my son/daughter knows i love him/her.
i hope my wife knows i love her.
i hope my friends know i love them.
don't feel pity for me.
life is good.
i try to be a good man and not a shadow of one.
a good man.
that is all i want to be.
take the weight baby take the weight baby.
read no more.
life is good.
great spirit why are you so grey?
is it because my hair is?
is that why hair gets grey?
i understand that now,
all is grey.
life is good.
linger on.
linger on my lips.
linger in my lungs.
linger in the good life.
please.
linger on.
linger with me for a bit.
life is good,
life is good.
life is grey,
life is good.
life is grey.
life is grey?
life is good.
life is good?
sure,

Ohhhhh, Baby!

I am currently in TX sitting on the porch having a cigarette.

This past week as been pretty crazy.

The Rabbit party was rad.
Evan played great.
I left shortly after that in a drunken state.

We moved into Cedar.
Come see us.

I towed Joey's car with Mr. Huff's truck.

I got a job a Pfunky Griddle.

Last night we celebrated Jakob's birthday.
Pool, Cigarettes, Chess, and Beer. Durh.
Pure Class.

I've been watching Gonzo with Joey a lot.
Hunter S. Thompson was brilliant.

Star Trek was the best thing I've seen in a while.

I love the mothers in my life.
Especially, the two most dear to me.
Thank you both for being there.
Keep on doing what you do.

Goodbye.

(a)

Today I payed my electric bill, and it felt soooo good.

Another day in the production of the BF (Bumping Fuzzies).

Tonight, I am off to find a charger for my phone.
Circle K Craig was giving me a hard time earlier, and it was really funny. He makes the list.

Mom, Dad, and a Barrel of Monkeys.

I am sitting in my arm chair with a musical mess in front of me.
Day (2) of the Bumping Fuzzies EP recording.

My folks were in town this weekend.
It was the shit.

Played a sub par show with Austin in Knoxville on friday, which was fun.
While in Knox, I went to this coffee shop and played these two rad black guys in chess. I won.
I got back at four in the morning to a very hilarious and slightly troublesome situation.

I also played with Kopecky last night. It was Bennett's last show... that bitch....
It was the first time in a while my parents got to see me play.
That was very neat.

(a) cloudy collective?

get ready april.

Young at heart.

So, I've begun working the night shift at circle K.
It is pretty chill and I am getting some quality Ichatting in.
The highlight though, was this morning at 5 am when this short stubby lady in her mid to late fifties came in.
She comes in every morning about that time and picks up some coffee, but not this morning.
She proceeded to get two buckets of ice cream, four things of peanut M&M's, two thing of just peanuts and her coffee.
We are making small talk and she tells me how she is taking a personal day off from work.
She then tells me that she is getting all of those things because it was her and her "partners" 25th anniversary and that they get stoned every year on their anniversary to enjoy each other and remember the 60's.
She was so jolly and warm I couldn't help but grin the whole time.

Brilliant man.

I have been reading this man's book called "Man and His Symbols."
It is a study on consciousness for the common man.
It was his last work and quite possibly his finest.
thank you, Carl Jung.
